Charity of the Year Visit 2015

On Thursday evening 8th October 2015, the Team from Central Beacons Mountain Rescue were grateful to receive a visit from Paul Gray and the Managers of Tydfil Training. Paul, CEO of Tydfil Training presented the Team with a cheque for £1,700 which was raised by the staff over the period of a year following various activities such as dress down days, fundraising walks and sponsorships. Central Beacons has supported Tydfil Training by providing team members to accompany the younger learners and Prince’s Trust Merthyr on walks to Pen-y-Fan and geocaching at Garwnant. Paul said that it gave him great pleasure to be associated with such a good cause and it was decided by the managers and staff to further support Central Beacons for the forthcoming year.

As a token of our thanks, Paul was presented with an engraved plaque acknowledging Tydfil Training’s continued support of CBMRT. Once again the Team would like to say a big thank you to Paul and all the staff for their generous donation and support.

Central heads (1)Last night Central Beacons held a head shave in support of Peter Howells (Central Beacons Chairman) (centre) who unfortunately has cancer.
The group consisted of from top left to right Keith Ellis, Richard Terrell, Lee Faulkner, bottom row Kevin Windmill and Arthur Smith.  With the exception of Keith (our own staff member) who collected from his workmates, friends and family more than £140.00, which will go to Central Beacons much needed fund raising to help purchase a replacement Response Ambulance for the one that was written off last year due to an accident whilst on a call.  The other member of the team have all collected for the Macmillan Cancer Support which with our Macmillan coffee morning  has raised over £1000.  If you wish to donate to us please follow this link.
